Why Contractors should keep work with the same electrician repeatedly

indexAs a contractor, you have a lot of freedom to set your own rules; however, you are also under a lot of stress to get the job done in a timely manner. Otherwise, you lose money. Being your own boss can sometimes come with trouble, and one of the best ways to avoid this is to have a great team working for you — specifically, as electrician. Working with electricity is a dangerous and time-consuming part of any building or repair project. When you hire an electrician, you want to be sure of what you are getting so you can have the confidence that unnecessary delays and accidents won’t happen. These four reasons should convince you to keep working with the same electrician:
Relationship — The most important part of a team is the relationship between everyone in the team. Building a good relationship with your electrician will save you time and keep the moral of your team positive and upbeat. If you don’t get long, the result is tension and each person’s job performance level will go down. When you keep working with the same electrician, you will develop a strong relationship, and in the long run, you will be adding a pillar of strength to your team.Confidence — As a contractor, there are times when you have to make a decision quickly. In order to do this, you really need to know exactly what your resources are. If you have to first think about searching for an electrician, not only will you delay the contract but you could end up losing it. When you stay with the same electrician, you know what you are getting, and this will give you the confidence you need to make quick decisions.Quality — When you sign a contract, you are promising your client of a certain level of work. It will be much easier for you to meet your commitment when you know the quality of the work you can get from your electrician. Working with the same electrician will allow you to know exactly what you are getting. Wiring may seem simple, but it is part of a large interdependent network. A capable and sharp electrician is essential for any project to go smoothly and for it to be finished with the quality you are aiming to provide.

Safety — A team that has a good relationship, reliable workers and provides quality work is the best way to ensure the safety of everyone working on the project. Safety in the work place is paramount as it will prevent accidents, lawsuits, and interruptions in the work.

Your trust in your workers will allow you to deliver the promised quality in a timely manner to your client, and this will be putting you in the best possible position to receive more contracts.

Great Energy Efficient Light Fixtures for Busy Homes

energy-efficient-lightingIf you are like most people, then you are probably trying to save money any way you possibly can. One of the ways that you can lower your energy bill is to use energy efficient lighting in the home. There are several designs and styles, and you can put the lights in any room of the home or outside.

Lamps
A lamp is the most universal light you can find. In order to make them energy efficient, you need to use the right bulb. Try to place the lamp in an area of the room where there are no windows. You can use the natural light of the sun instead of the lamp. Don’t put lamps in a room that you don’t enter as much. Try to get a smaller lamp that requires a small bulb wattage. These are great for bedrooms and dens.
Under the Cabinet
These are the lights you would find in the kitchen. There are different lengths to choose from, and the fluorescent light can really save you money. Some of them provide almost 90 percent in energy savings. The lights are LEDs, and they are normally only 120 volts. Place the light under a cabinet that covers the most space. Don’t put it over a cabinet that only gets used once or twice a month just because you want it to look better. Utilize corner space. If you put the light in a corner, it can sometimes reflect off the walls, creating the appearance of more light in the area.

Battery Lights
This kind of lighting is probably the easiest way to save money and energy. Invest in a battery charger so that you don’t have to keep replacing the batteries in the light. These are ideal lights for a child’s bedroom or a bathroom. They can also be used on a bedroom nightstand so that you don’t have to leave a lamp on after going to sleep. Battery powered lights can also be used as display lights. Place them on the top of paintings and other items in the home that you want illuminated for others to see. You can turn them on if you are expecting company, or you can create a museum effect in the home.

Recessed Lighting
These are lights that are placed in the ceiling that don’t require a cover. Since they don’t need a cover, you can use a lower wattage and still have a bright light. Most of these lights use about 10 watts of energy. Use an LED bulb to further decrease the energy consumption. Some of these lights last 50,000 hours. The best thing about these lights is that you can use them in wet locations. This means they can be used in every room of the house as well as outside. Your pool area is a place where you can use the recessed lighting.

Whenever you plan to decrease energy usage with lighting, keep in mind that not using lights during the day or when no one is home is also helpful. For more information on making your home more efficient, contact Michael at PALMA Electric, LLC for a complementary quote!
